8bitOcean was founded in 2023 as part of the Revesta Group - a company with proven experience delivering software solutions across financial services, real estate, banking, construction, and business operations. The foundation was already there: software discipline, client service, data structure, and the ability to build systems that survive real business pressure.
When Revesta looked into the maritime industry, the problem was impossible to ignore. Much of the software looked digital, but the thinking behind it was still old. New screens were placed on top of old logic. Legacy workflows were copied into nicer interfaces. The real problems - poor structure, weak usability, messy data, bad implementation, and the gap between vessel and office - were left untouched.
Revesta does not enter an industry by guessing. It brings in people who know the work from the inside. For the maritime direction, that expertise came through Maksims Gerasimskis, our Product Manager, with 20+ years in maritime, 7+ years as Chief Engineer, and 5+ years in maritime office operations, maintaining and implementing planned maintenance systems on both technical and operational levels.
That is where 8bitOcean started: software builders who know how to deliver serious systems, combined with maritime professionals who know where the real pain is. Not theory. Not recycled ERP thinking. Not another interface pretending to be innovation. A company built to challenge the old patterns and build something that actually fits modern maritime operations.
